Hello! I’m in Shreveport now, tidying up the new house and since I’ve had so much luxurious free time, I would pass some some recommendations of media I’ve enjoyed recently

Videos-

Not able to link it but on Netflix is Zach Galifianakis new “A Show about Gardening”. Its hilarious, educational, wholesome, and serene. And with a score by Mac Demarco!

Curious George Carlin- I love binging UCB Characters Welcome sets and this is a recent diamond

Gameoverse: Pilot- a new show created by former Game Grumps Ross O’Donovan. A love letter to cartoon animation and video games. Its wonderful and I hope they get picked up for a full series.

Alton Brown’s Last Meal- I didn’t grow up watching any of Alton Brown’s food network shows, but this interview made me wish I had. A lot of chef personalities are people I really admire bc they seem so full of life and honestly. Brown is no different. Pair him with this show’s genius concept and Chef Josh’s own connection to Brown and I promise you will get something out of this.

Music:

I sent Ore an album the other day and he sent me back one that was much better. So here’s me passing off his recommendation: Train on an Island by Aldous Harding

They’ve got a new album coming out soon, but I can’t ever recommend The Army, The Navy enough. Its just all beautiful stuff. I discovered them through KLSU too so they’re just very special to me. Check out their most recent album, Fruit for Flies

As of writing this, I’ve only listened to parts of this record, but I’ve been really impressed by Broken Social Scene’s newest release. I’m about to go run errands and listen the whole way through. Join me won’t you: Remember the Humans

Hello!

It's been a minute since I last posted on here, mainly because I feel like I haven't had much to say. But I have a lot of things that I want to share in a longer format, so this felt like the most optimal way to do that.

First off, if you're reading this, and you haven't gotten tickets to Run for your Wife, then please do that before moving on. I've been putting everything I've got in to this behemoth of a show, and I'd love if you could come out and support me and the rest of the amazing cast and crew. I don't know if I'll do acting after this ever again, but I said that after God Gun! two years ago and here we are, so we'll see.

Secondly, and to address the clickbaityness of the title of this entry, yes, I am moving back to North Louisiana. "Back to Ruston?" you might be thinking. No! Worse! Shreveport! I'm heading up there for personal reasons for some time, but while I'm there, I'll be getting my MBA (boring!). I'll also hopefully have a cool job while I'm there. But I don't have any leads on that yet so IF YOU KNOW ANY COOL PEOPLE IN SHREVEPORT WHO ARE HIRING, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Life in general is very expensive right now, as I'm sure you, dear reader, are well aware, and I would currently prefer to keep living, despite the fact that said 'living' will happen in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lastly, I want to put it out there in to the universe that I'm trying to work on some sort of other solo creative content right now. I have an idea for something cool, but it will be a while before I do any sort of update on that. But if you are interested in helping me with it, please fill out this survey.

With all that being said, I'll miss all of my Baton Rouge people. I've made so many amazing friends in this city. Through LSU all of the other various institutions I've been a part of in my time here, I feel like I've grown in to a version of myself I'm very proud of. To my BR friends, don't be shy to hit me up if you're driving through I20. Maybe we can go hiking in the Ozarks together sometime. And if any of my Ruston people are reading this: hit me up as well. I'll be in town a lot more very soon, and I'd love to get a bite and catch up. Also tell Louisiana Tech to respond to my emails.

Much love and luck,

Cade.

A few months ago, one of the owners of Radio Bar asked me if I was interested in helping to bring back one of the bar's signature events: the local music showcase. Ever since I graduated from LSU, I've been trying to figure out where I fit in creatively, and this felt like the right opportunity to take up. So I said yes, and ever since then I've been reaching out to up and coming Baton Rouge musicians, reconnecting with old friends I made through KLSU, and trying to coordinate this huge undertaking.

What's been great about this process is that its helped me realize I love event planning. I love going through the schematics, figuring out what makes people want to be in a physical space, and ensuring that when they get there, their expectations are met.

The event is next Thursday, and I hope everyone can make it. I've also begun work on a different type of event that I hope will come to fruition, but more on that another day. I hope you can come support Baton Rouge's local music scene at Radio Bar's Local Listening Lounge.
